Hexagon Magic

Quilt Binding Fundamentals

Are you bound up with your binding? Together we will figure out: yardage needed, whether to use straight of grain or bias binding and how to make both, inside, outside corners, edges with odd angles and mitering corners.

Civil War Club

This club is for those who love vintage and reproduction quilts. The club has a historical focus, in Civil War fabrics, information on quilt and textile history as well as women’s history.

EQ7 Continuum (Club)

You have the EQ7 software and haven taken the classes but you still don’t feel comfortable using EQ7. You will practice what you have learned to become more comfortable using the program. You know the old sayings, “Use it or loose it” and “Practice makes perfect”. Come join others & learn how to use the design software to its fullest. Pre-registration required.

Hand Applique Club

Do you enjoy hand appliqué and want to expand your skills? Join Marion Bergstrom monthly from 10:00 AM - Noon. Socialize with others while you work on your current project, have your questions answered, and learn from one another.

From the beginner to the experienced, come and share your love of Redwork/Embroidery with this group. The group works on various projects. Join the group at anytime, you will have lots of fun.

Open Sewing

Midnight @ the Oasis

Monthly – Friday Come sew, socialize, have a light dinner & dessert with us. Bring your current project or start a new one. This is your time for uninterrupted sewing and a fun night spent with other quilters.

Class Policies & Rating Your Skill Level


Class Policies

Basic Supplies

* Cutting Mat & Rotary Cutter                   * Scissors
* Ruler(s)                                                      * Pins, Seam Ripper, and Other Basic Supplies
* Marking Pencil                                         
* Quality Sewing Thread
* Sewing Machine & attachments/feet. (Cleaned & Oiled, new machine needle of appropriate size & type, extra filled bobbins)
NOTE: Please label all of your supplies to prevent loss.

Other Supplies

* All class attendes must have a legal copy of the class pattern/book to particpate.
* Absolutely no photocopies allowed in class and no sharing of patterns or books.
* A class supply list will be supplied to you at time of class enrollment.
* Save 10% on all required class supplies (listed on supply list).

Class Fees
* The class fee must be collected when you sign up for the class to guarantee your seat.
* Each fee is listed next to class info.
* Class fee DOES NOT include supplies unless specified in written class description.
* If needed:  A sewing machine may be used for class; rental fee of $5.00/day.

Cancellation

* If you cannot attend a class for which you have registered, you must let us know 72 hours prior to class time. 
  We will be happy to refund your class fee and/or register you in another class.
* A "no-show" or cancellation after the 72 hour allowance of the class will result in a forefeiture of class fee.
* A minimum of 3 - 4 students is required for class, unless otherwise stated.
  If this requirement is not met, instructor reserves the right to cancel class
and you will be refunded the class fee.

Class Time
* All class particpants are asked to show up 15 minutes prior to class and ready to get started.
* All class particpants are asked to turn off cell phones, emergency calls can be made and/or received through the shop phone.
* Please do not wear perfume to class due to allergies of others.

Class Participants

* Students must be at least 16 years of age unless otherwise stated in class listing.

How To Rate Your Skill Level


Beginner

* I have little or no experience with quilt making or sewing. I have some knowledge of using my  sewing machine.

Advanced Beginner

* I have experience with a rotary cutter and piecing and/or have basic sewing skills and knowledge.
  I have made several quilts or garments. I have a good working knowledge of using my sewing
  machine.

Intermediate

* I am comfortable with interpreting patterns and designs and have made several quilts or garments.  I have a good working knowledge of using my sewing machine.

Advanced

* I am comfortable with all levels of designing, sewing and creating quilts or garments. I have excellent working knowledge of using my sewing machine.
